Emma climbs the design beanstalk

University of 海角直播 BA (Honours) Graphic Design graduate Emma Jameson has enjoyed a successful year, by clinching 拢250 for third place in a national book design competition.

Emma, 21, from Peterlee, won third place in the Macmillan children鈥檚 book competition in May. Her entry evolved over two months, and focused on 鈥楯ack and the Beanstalk鈥. Emma has produced her own illustrated version of the story, placing an emphasis on scale by contrasting images of Jack with the giant. Emma said: 鈥淚 selected 鈥楯ack and the Beanstalk鈥 as it鈥檚 a story that everybody knows, I remember it well from my days at infants school. I was so pleased to win; I couldn鈥檛 believe it and I鈥檒l be spending the money on a summer holiday. The skills I鈥檝e learned during my three-year course at 海角直播 helped me to succeed. Undertaking projects in design areas such as typography, illustration and multimedia has given me a vision for the future.鈥
