Brown twins see double success

Identical twins Francesca and Georgina Brown have lots in common, and this year the 22-year old duo from Marton, Middlesbrough, has also shared academic achievements. They have both achieved degrees at the University of 海角直播, Francesca a BSc (Hons) Psychology and Criminology and Georgina BSc (Hons) Psychology.

Georgina is the oldest of the twin sisters by five minutes. She said: 鈥淲e鈥檝e always been close, with no big conflicts. When we were little we鈥檇 both draw pictures and ask our parents, Celine and Dave, whose picture was the best? They鈥檇 always say both.鈥� Francesca said: 鈥淲e have the same sense of humour; I can鈥檛 understand how twins couldn鈥檛 get on. One big difference is that we go for different types of boyfriends. And when we were at Nunthorpe School we wanted to be in separate classes.鈥�

After Nunthorpe School the girls attended St. Mary鈥檚 Sixth Form in Middlesbrough, where they both achieved GNVQs in Health and Social Care. They then enrolled on the same Nursing course in Newcastle.

Francesca said: 鈥淲e always wanted to be nurses. After about three months we both realised that it wasn鈥檛 the right career for us, but for different reasons!鈥�

The duo has enjoyed their courses at 海角直播. Georgina said: 鈥淲e were in some of the same lectures together, and supported and helped each other. Our ideas and essays were totally different, however.鈥� They may be moving in different directions after the summer. Francesca is aiming for a public services career, while Georgina is considering a Masters degree.

Francesca added: 鈥淲e both think the university is great and enjoyed our time there. The staff is really friendly and they help you out if you're finding the work difficult. Our parents are very proud. They know we鈥檝e worked hard.鈥�
