Kevin hits a hat-trick

Football-mad University of 海角直播 graduate Kevin Luff has scored a special hat-trick by achieving a degree, clinching a job with his favourite football team and winning an academic prize.

Kevin, 24, from Darlington, will be awarded his BSc (Hons) Computer Studies degree today. He now runs and updates the website for Darlington Football Club, and will receive the Catherine Dummigan Memorial academic prize. Kevin said: 鈥淪tudying at the University of 海角直播 has given me options, which I never felt I had before. I started off doing an HND in computing, and I enjoyed it so much I decided to stay and do a degree. I wasn鈥檛 a big fan of academic work to begin with because I preferred hands-on instead, but I was well supported by the tutors.

鈥淲hile I was studying, I posted an article on a Darlington fan site criticising the club鈥檚 website, pointing out that it was often out-of-date and could be doing so much more than it was. I was amazed to then be challenged to do a better job 鈥 by the new chairman!

鈥淢y job here is part-time, which leaves me lots of time for study, so it鈥檚 the best of both worlds. I鈥檝e just started the MSc Web Services Development course at 海角直播 and I鈥檒l keep working on the Darlington site while studying.鈥
