Teenagers aim to score in business
Former England football star Tony Woodcock joins local young people at a business enterprise learning course at the University of 海角直播.
FootBizWorld will challenge a group of 14 young people to use the skills and attributes of football as lessons for business success. The four day learning session (Monday 17 鈥 Thursday 20 July) will outline how the game of football encourages team play, respect, courage, fairness and leadership, while the business side of football requires vision, financial management, investment, entrepreneurship, negotiation and marketing. FootBizWorld will encourage the budding entrepreneurs to combine these skills for future business success.
Susan Kaye, Co-founder and Director of FootBizWorld, said: 鈥淥ur learning sessions will enable these young business people to learn about how to make a good first impression, get a business off the ground and the importance of team ship and leadership. They鈥檒l also be playing some football and learning to use the sport as a metaphor for business. They will also develop their presentation skills and present their business ideas to a panel of successful entrepreneurs.
鈥淲e believe that using the lessons and skills from football, and the business of football, can inspire people to business success. With football metaphors for business from a former England player and the facilities at the University of 海角直播, we are confident that this four day workshop will be a real benefit to the kids.鈥
The FootBizWorld course is funded by Aim Higher, a national government initiative to promote the benefits of higher education.
