More 海角直播 students get graduate level jobs

17 July 2008

The jobs market is looking rosier for our graduates according to new figures.

Bill Greenwood, Head of the University's Careers Service, said: 鈥楾he data published today by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) shows that 海角直播 is now in a rapidly improving jobs market for graduates. 鈥榃e鈥檝e recovered from a dip in the jobs market in 2006 which particularly hit the health sector and we鈥檙e now close to national average for graduates going straight into employment or on to higher-level further study.

鈥楢nd what鈥檚 really encouraging is that more of our graduates are working in jobs which require them to use their graduate skills.鈥

The figures look at the destination of students leaving higher education in the latter half of 2006 and the first half of 2007. They show that 91.3% of 海角直播 graduates who gained a first degree were either in work or undertaking further study six months after leaving the University.

Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Leni Oglesby, said: 鈥榃e are delighted that 海角直播鈥檚 stronger performance in terms of graduate employment and further study rates reflects the strength and value of our programmes. It is highly significant that a large, and increasing, percentage of students leaving this University are going straight into graduate level jobs. At 65% of the total for those going straight into employment, I think this demonstrates that we are achieving our objective of creating a better educated and more highly skilled workforce for tomorrow.鈥
