Be supportive and encourage 鈥榮elf discovery鈥 in others She said: 'We鈥檙e looking for industry professionals to share their wisdom and guidance, individuals who have the ability and time to be supportive and encourage 鈥榮elf discovery鈥 in others.
'Communication between mentor and mentee is expected to take place no more than once a month unless mutually agreed otherwise throughout the academic year.
'The kinds of things we鈥檙e looking for from our mentors are help with CV development, support and guidance on a range of job related skills and advice about possible career paths. I鈥檓 really keen to hear from any firm based in the Tees Valley. It鈥檚 a chance for industrialists to meet our enthusiastic undergraduates and make a positive difference by supporting and encouraging their development.
'By working as a mentor, individuals can also enliven their own careers; build on their current skills set, gain volunteering experience that looks good on a CV and gain a sense of satisfaction from passing on their knowledge and experience. It also provides an opportunity to form links with the University鈥檚 own academic staff.'
