Cook Building officially sets sail

Sly Bailey, the Chief Executive of Trinity Mirror plc, is to officially open 海角直播鈥檚 Cook Building today.

The Cook building was formerly owned by the Trinity Mirror newspaper The Evening Gazette. It includes a convergent newsroom, which offers professional training for students from the University鈥檚 journalism programmes and external reporters. In addition, the Cook Building also houses two large customised design studios and an IT suite for computer-aided design. Workshops for wood, metal, plaster, resin and glass are on the lower floors. Ms Bailey will be touring the Cook Building, behind Borough Road, Middlesbrough with the University鈥檚 Vice-Chancellor, Professor Graham Henderson CBE, the Evening Gazette鈥檚 Managing Director, Bob Cuffe and Professor Gerda Roper, Dean of the University鈥檚 School of Arts & Media.

Professor Graham Henderson, 海角直播鈥檚 Vice-Chancellor, said: 'I am delighted to welcome Sly Bailey to the University to formally open the Cook Building. It is yet another sign of the investment being made by the University in the future, and in the student experience, and I am really looking forward to sharing with Sly the work of our talented students and staff.'
