Janet Graham, Nursery Manager, said: 'We decided to have a search and rescue theme for our sponsored event, so used two dolls called Michael and Michaela which the children often take home for the weekend.
'The dolls went 鈥榤issing鈥 in the park and the children and their parents came to the rescue to find them. After searching most of the park, the dolls were found safe and sound hiding in some bushes.
'We don鈥檛 yet know how much has been raised, but we do know that the Search and Rescue Team will be grateful for the donation which will help in some way to support the valuable work that the volunteers do.'
Dave Cammish, of Cleveland Search and Rescue Team, said: 'The children in the nursery were sponsored to raise money for us and we wanted to come in to meet them.
'It鈥檚 great to engage with the community and talk about our work and demonstrate what we do. Most people don鈥檛 realise the variety of work we do and often assume that all of our work is involved in mountain rescue.
'Although a lot of our work involves searches in rural areas, but we also get call-outs to help in searches for missing people in more urban areas. We are all volunteers and as we have no funding we rely on fundraising to help to support the work we do.'
