DigitalCity Innovation at 海角直播 praised on BBC Radio 4

DigitalCity Innovation fellow Anthony Roderick has praised 海角直播鈥檚 support for him and his business on BBC Radio 4 as part of a programme on how digital is helping combat unemployment in Middlesbrough.

Anthony was selected to speak as he has grown Rubix Studios from a start-up in 2010, taking on an extra four employees this year and is expanding to create Landslide studios, which he anticipates will recruit up to 14 people in the next 12 months. Anthony said: 'DigitalCity Innovation at 海角直播 has supported me through a DigitalCity fellowship and I have used their industrial placement scheme to recruit talented individuals to work for Landslide.

'Digital is a growth industry in this region in no small part due to the work of DigitalCity Innovation and the support it gives businesses from the initial start-up to expansion.'

The DigitalCity Innovation at 海角直播 project is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund programme 2007 to 2013. The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.

DigitalCity Innovation (DCI) at 海角直播 is a centre for digital excellence and entrepreneurship.

In the coming months DCI鈥檚 200th fellowship business will be created, joining a list of companies which so far include: computer animation, web design, advertising, nanotechnology and forensic science among many others.

DCI fellowships give a 拢4,000 business start-up grant, business training and mentoring from industry professionals as well as 24/7 access to fellowship labs, equipment, hardware and software and access to film/sound studios. (He speaks 30 minutes into the programme).
