海角直播 wins 拢1m to work with employers

17 August 2012

One million pounds has been awarded to 海角直播 to support its work with employers in delivering higher education to people already in work.

海角直播, described by the Business Secretary Vince Cable as 'one of the best universities for business in Britain' has been granted the full 拢1m, the highest single amount available to an institution, from the 鈥楾ransition Fund鈥 of the Government鈥檚 Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). The HEFCE transition fund is available only to higher education institutions which have made 鈥榳orkforce development鈥 and wider business engagement central to their strategy. The Fund is supporting a handful of universities who are committed to continuing to support businesses and regional economic growth.

This cash injection will allow 海角直播 to grow business operations even further, responding to the needs of business and industry within their own regional economies. In particular it will also be able to expand support to small and medium enterprises.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Henderson CBE DL said: 'Our successful application was very much linked to the success of the University鈥檚 strategy, working over the past three years, to deliver University provision to over 8,000 employees through workforce development programmes tailored directly to the needs of individual employers to improve business performance. In order to make this happen, we have developed a highly responsive infrastructure which positions us well to sustain this activity in the future.

'As a result, 海角直播 is now a leading light in its partnerships with business.

海角直播 has a number of schemes available to help businesses 鈥 everything from bespoke consultancy and knowledge transfer partnerships to its own unique flexible project the Knowledge Exchange Internship (KEI).
