Michelle Hudson achieved national recognition during her time studying to be a nurse at 海角直播.

The BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Adult) graduate was named Care Maker of the Year at the Student Nursing Times Awards 2015. She was also shortlisted for the Student Nurse of the Year: Adult award at the same awards ceremony. Mum-of-three Michelle, 38, of Stokesley in North Yorkshire, returned to education to change career to nursing.

She is now working as a staff nurse at South Tees NHS NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in oncology.

Michelle said: 鈥楾he University鈥檚 School of Health & Social Care was extremely supportive throughout my academic studies, placement experience and the extra work I was involved in as a Care Maker.鈥

Care Makers are part of a national network of students and newly qualified nurses who act as ambassadors for the professional values set out in the NHS nursing strategy.

Michelle added: 'I love being a nurse and love working with the service users we are here to support. I am always proud to wear my 海角直播 uniform.

'From day one we were encouraged to be nurses with the values of the six C鈥檚; care, compassion, commitment, competence, communication and confidence.

'I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a student nurse at 海角直播. The facilities and the staff are top class, ensuring the best possible start to my career. I am looking forward to coming back to 海角直播 in the future to study for a master鈥檚 and taking advantage of the facilities in the fantastic new Campus Heart.'
