Lights, Cameras, Awards!

The region鈥檚 finest young animators and film-makers will share the spotlight, when their achievements are acknowledged by the Royal Television Society鈥檚 (RTS) Young People鈥檚 Awards. The ceremony will be held at the BBC鈥檚 studios at Barrack Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, on Wednesday 28 February from 11.15am-1pm.

The event has been sponsored by the University of 海角直播, the BBC, Tyne Tees Television and the Royal Television Society, and will feature the work of 50 young people from the North-East, aged 12-18. Featured work includes pastiches of gangster movies and horror films, and boasts some innovative animation. Professor Paul Wells, Head of the Media Academic section at the University of 海角直播 said: 鈥淭his is an important development for the University in working with the region鈥檚 media organisations, in promoting and profiling the production work of young film and video practitioners鈥�.
