A group of six MSc Chemical Engineering students picked up the Most Creative Idea award at the Decarbonisation Hackathon after pitching a feasible and cost-effective idea to decarbonise companies across 海角直播. Groups of students from both 海角直播 and Newcastle University attended the one-day event, organised by Worley, SABIC, and TVCA at Middlesbrough College.

The team developed an idea for the application of electrochemistry principles in carbon capture for a local company. This involved considering the overall technical and commercial feasibility, sustainability and HSE impact, energy generation and storage as well as carbon emission abatement.

We are proud of all the students who attended the Decarbonisation Hackathon, especially those who received the prestigious award for the most creative idea.
