Immigration law specialist celebrates graduation success

Law graduate Louise Edwards, who has her own legal firm specialising in immigration law, returned to 海角直播 to complete postgraduate study.

Louise, 48, from Middlesbrough, who graduated from the LLM Legal Practice, has extensive experience in the legal and immigration sector, having spent the past decade building her firm and professional experience. She said: 鈥淚 completed my LLB (Hons) law degree in 2012 and at that time I鈥檇 intended to progress straight on to a master鈥檚 degree. However, life circumstances changed and during that period, I established and developed my own business, which required a significant amount of commitment, resilience, and hard work.

鈥淎lthough my professional career progressed successfully, completing a master鈥檚 degree remained a personal and professional goal, one which I鈥檇 always intended to return to.

鈥淚 felt this was the right stage in my career to continue my academic development, build on my existing legal knowledge and practical experience, and challenge myself further in the legal field. 鈥淚 returned to 海角直播 for postgraduate study as I鈥檇 maintained contact with the law faculty after completing my undergraduate degree and it felt like the natural place for me to continue my academic journey.

鈥淭he university is local to me, which allows me to balance my studies alongside my professional commitments and business responsibilities. In addition, I have always found the staff to be both friendly and professional and I value the supportive environment it provided.鈥�

Louise added: 鈥淎s a mature student, I needed to balance work, study and family life, which required significant organisation, discipline, and time management. As I run my own business and have professional responsibilities, I had to carefully manage my workload and dedicate time to both my studies and family commitments.

鈥淪tudying alongside peers from diverse backgrounds and experiences greatly enriched the experience and created a supportive learning environment.鈥�

Louise added: 鈥淢y long-term career aim is to qualify as a solicitor and continue developing my legal practice further.鈥�
