Sarah steps into role helping to make healthcare more accessible

A 海角直播 graduate has secured a role designed to help people access health services.

Sarah Dunn, 30, from Newton Aycliffe, graduated from the BSc (Hons) Nutrition and is now working as an Advanced Practitioner for the Health Squad within the NHS. Her role involves working with local communities to provide health checks, promote health campaigns and offer support and signposting to help people access and navigate health services.

Sarah said: 鈥淢y daughter has been my inspiration ever since I became a mam. She was only 10 months old when I started working for the NHS and she inspired me to return to education. My aim is to hopefully eventually work on the clinical side of the NHS.

鈥淚 chose 海角直播 to complete my degree due to the commute and diversity of attracting mature students. I also liked the sound of the modules offered.

鈥淲hat I enjoyed a lot about my degree was meeting new people from different backgrounds and adapting my knowledge base of nutrition, alongside finding interest in the food manufacturing modules and new product development modules offered.

鈥淒uring my time as at student at 海角直播, I really enjoyed being in the University鈥檚 Library and also using the learning pods in the Student Life building for group projects.

鈥淭he best thing was being able to continuously learn and develop my knowledge base for nutrition which I can apply at work going forward in my career.

鈥淢y three years of study at 海角直播 feels like it was over so quickly as it feels like only yesterday when I started my degree. I鈥檓 going to miss it so much.鈥�
